As an energy-efficient building insulation material, polyurethane sandwich panel has become an important component of modern industrial plants, logistics warehouses, and cold storage facilities. This type of building panel, which combines metal surface layers with polyurethane material, is expected to become increasingly important in the future.
Excellent Performance
The core advantage of polyurethane sandwich panel lies in their outstanding thermal insulation performance. Polyurethane foam materials have good thermal insulation properties, with a thermal conductivity as low as 0.017-0.025 W/(m·K). This means that a panel just 5 centimeters thick can achieve the same insulation effect as a one-meter-thick concrete wall. Thanks to its excellent insulation performance, polyurethane sandwich panels have become the preferred material for constructing cold storage facilities.

Waterproofing, moisture resistance, and high stability are additional advantages of polyurethane sandwich panels. The closed-cell rate of the polyurethane foam core exceeds 95%, effectively blocking moisture penetration. The water absorption rate of polyurethane sandwich panels is less than 3%. At the same time, under temperature variations of 30°C, the dimensional change of the panels is less than 1%, ensuring long-term use without deformation.
The fire resistance of polyurethane sandwich panels can reach Class B1. Polyurethane sandwich panels are flammable, but they stop burning just 3 seconds after being removed from the flame. Although slightly inferior to rock wool sandwich panels in this regard, they still meet basic fire safety requirements.
Structurally, thanks to the two layers of metal panels on the top and bottom, polyurethane sandwich panels have good structural strength. The compressive strength of polyurethane sandwich panels is greater than 150 kPa. However, the core material is polyurethane foam, which makes the panels 30-60% lighter than traditional products. This makes polyurethane sandwich panels the preferred material for lightweight construction.

High Production Demand
Currently, the production process of polyurethane sandwich panels is highly automated. Leading manufacturers, such as Harbin Dong’an Building Sheets Co., Ltd., adopt continuous production lines to integrate the entire process of foaming, curing, and shaping the panels.
High-pressure foaming and forming is a key step in the production of polyurethane sandwich panels. The quality of the foaming directly determines the performance of the panels. During production, manufacturers need to precisely control the temperature of the chain board and foaming materials. The speed of the production line is also critical, as it affects the uniformity of the core foaming process.
